“Believe me friend hullabaloo! The greatest events are not our noisiest, but our stillest hours.” – Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche ‘Thus Spoke Zarathustra’
In every hurricane there is an eye in the middle where the storm is absent. In every soul there is a center undisturbed by the world.
In our stillest hours, we find this center in the storm of life and momentary peace. Have you felt such a moment where all is still?
Nietzsche, like many before him, believed these moments of peace, grace, and clarity are the greatest of our lives – not those at the violent apex of the storm.
Our world in 2024 is loud, bright, colorful, in constant motion, impressing upon us without restraint. We are in a hurricane of modernity (often sitting in the palm of your hand).
Perhaps to step away, into nature, into a hobby or passion, with friends and loved ones, into a book or quality film, into meditation, into the pain in our hearts, we can find peace in the eye of the storm.
