Heart Strength

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” – Aristotle

We must all know facts, history, processes, develop skills, organize our lives, develop our minds to deal with life.

Yet, are we computers, robots, machines? Must we only be intelligent in mind, efficient in our processes, cold and calculating?

With a powerful mind and weak heart, we become efficient, productive, yet to aims without soul, conscience, or wisdom.

With a strong heart, we at least are human. We are strong, resilient, courageous, loving, passionate, wise. These are the qualities that trump intelligence. These are the qualities that make life worth living.

A strong heart and weak mind makes at least a loving and wise fool.

A strong mind and weak heart makes an automaton, or a tyrant.

A strong heart leading a strong mind makes a true leader.

Strengthen our hearts, then our minds.

Then, with children standing as our future, our hope, let us take care to educate their minds, yet most importantly, their hearts.

Strong hearted children make strong hearted adults. Strong hearted adults will make a world worth living in.

A strong heart, to guide the mind.
