The first domino of Love is all that must be tipped, so don’t be afraid to act.
What is easier? To hate, fight, contend, unleash wrath, all stemming from pride and the need to be achieve victory at the expense of others?
Or is it easier to show love? To understand, listen, contend with temperance, all stemming from love and the need to create a better future together?
The quick, unconscious decision, is to embrace our wrath and crush and humiliate our enemy until our pride is satisfied.
The hard, thoughtful decision is to find grace in these moments, find love for the other, and strive to work as one.
Perhaps a form of love is to not seek to strike at the other personally and to cause them deep pain. We do not stab with our words, but use them to achieve peace, simmer tempers, and give everyone their dues by admitting faults, all while still seeking justice.
It is the end goal that is essential. Do we want peace, understanding, and growth from this? Or do we want to destroy, humiliate, and enrage our enemy?
Love is like a domino standing at the ready to be tipped. Yet we dare not tip it lest we appear “weak”, “soft”, and “scared”.
But do the hard thing. Tip a domino of love.
And all the rest will fall.
